We invite entries to the Charm Poetry Competition for April 2022.
Prize-winning poems are usually on serious subjects. Free-form poems are more common than traditional structures, and rhyme is rare. We’d like to change some of that.
So entertain us. Brighten our day. We like warmth, wordplay, wit and whimsy. We believe it’s possible to write a good poem that conforms to these guidelines, and we'd like you to prove us right.
PRIZES
- First prize - £100
- Second prize - £50
- Third prize - £25
Highly commended category at the judge's discretion.
The competition closes at 11:59 BST on Sunday 24 April 2022.
Winners will be announced on this website on Sunday 29 May 2022.
